Jarrad
Carey Joins the Eagles in 2012 |
|
 |
The Whittlesea Football Club has announced its
coaching appointments for the 2012 season. Peter Bugden
has been reappointed as senior coach and Wayne Faure as
reserves coach, while former NFL Football Operations
Manager Jarrad Carey has been appointed coach of the
under 19s. Bugden will again be teamed with assistant
Brad Dean, with the club stating that it believes the
duo has what it takes to guide the Eagles to the
Division 1 finals in 2012. Carey will lead the under 19s
as they look to again play finals after finishing fifth
in 2011. He has coaching experience having worked with
the NFL Development Program over the past few years and
has previously been involved at the highest level with
both Collingwood and Fremantle at AFL level where he had
access to some of the AFL’s best coaching
principles. Whittlesea said it was extremely excited to
have Carey as part of its team, and is confident he is
going to make the football club an even better place for
young people to play football in 2012. For more

Girls Gallant In Defeat |
|
 |
The Whittlesea Eagles Netball girls
played off in the 2011 Grand Final against Mernda. The
game was played in such a high standard that it was a
pleasure to be there as a spectator. For almost the
entire game, it was goal for goal and at 3/4 time we
trailed by only 1 goal and looked like we may be in with
a chance. In the final quarter, the pressure was
extreme, both teams wanted to win and you could see the
desperation from both club's. I noticed the girls coach
Bob Hudson was riding every pass and goal that was
happening on the court and believe if he had a spare
outfit, he would have taken the court himself. In the
end, Mernda who was the stronger team all year managed
to hang on by 3 goals, 25 to 22 in what was a
magnificent game and full credit to the entire team
represented the club superbly. Next season you will go
that one better... |
