As well as our
regular Thursday Nights at the Footy Club, We thought we would
introduce Friday Nights at the Footy Club as well. Starting from
Friday April 9, Meals and Snacks will be available to purchase
from the canteen as there will be number of Friday night games
on the fixture for this year, So come on down and enjoy a night
off from the kitchen, watch some great Junior football or watch
the AFL on the big screen.

released all Junior fixtures for the 2010 season which starts on

Under 19's Players Still
Required For 2010 Season
After a terrific 2009 season where the Under
19's won the Division 2 Grand Final, very few Under 17's have
come back to the club to play Under 19's. The Under 19's are
struggling for players this season. So if you were born between
the 1st July 1990 and the 31st December 1992, you are eligible
to play Under 19's. Please come down to training on Tuesday's &
Thursday's from 6:00pm at the Whittlesea Showgrounds. New
players also welcome...

erected the goal posts, marked the oval and gave the grass a mow
on Wednesday in readiness for our 1st practice match on Saturday
against Montmorency and for the Juniors practice match on Sunday
against West Preston.

Mel Signs On For Another
Year As No 1 Ticket Holder
Our number 1 ticket holder for 2009 has
signed on for another year. Sunrise's Melissa Doyle said "she
would be honoured to be involved with the club for another
year". Sunrise were a great supporter of the club last season in
attending the Anzac Day game as well as sending down a personnel
message on DVD from the entire Sunrise gang wishing them luck in
the Grand Final. Mel & Steph also attended the club's 2009
Presentation & Annual Ball. It great to have them as part of the
team in 2010.

Details
Players who are not registered should
complete their registration forms and hand them and their money
to their respective team manager.Birth certificates are required for all new
registrations.You cannot play in the practice matches unless you are
registered.
Registration fees are now $70 for a single & $130 for a family
(from 1/3/10)

Eagles Ready To Soar
With the 2010 season fast approaching, Coach
Peter Bugden (centre) presented Lucas Hobbs (left) & Andrew
Fairchild (right) with their Eagles Jumpers for the upcoming
season. Lucas who played his junior football with the club has
returned back to the nest after a stint playing division 1 with
Heidelberg. Spider has also bought with him a great deal of
experiences as he also played division 1 football with
Greensborough. With our first practice match against Montmorency
just over 2 weeks away, things are starting to get serious.
Thursday Night Meals Set
To Kick Off March 11th
Now that training has commenced for all
Junior teams and Seniors practices matches are set to start, our
clubrooms will reopen for meals starting Thursday 11th March and
every Thursday night for the entire season. So take
the night off from cooking and come in and enjoy a great family
atmosphere at down to earth prices. You don't have to be a
member or even have kids play with the club, our doors are open
to everybody. Meals start being served from 6:00pm until about
8:30pm. Drinks from the bar are the cheapest in town..

Medical Trainer Needed For
The 2010 Season
The Whittlesea Football Club is seeking the services of a
suitably qualified sports trainer for the 2010 Northern Football
League season. Trainers should hold a minimum of Level 1 First
Aid Certificate although Sports Training accreditation would be
preferred. The club conducts training sessions at the Whittlesea
Showgrounds and competes in the Northern region of Melbourne.
Home games are played at Whittlesea Showgrounds.
Remuneration: To be negotiated depending upon experience.
Requirements:Attendance at some training sessions,
with games played on Saturday's.
Qualifications: LevelOne First Aid (minimum)
- Level One Sports Trainer /
Massage Training would be preferred.
The club can arrange training for those who may be interested,

N.F.L Fair Game Survey
The Northern Football League would like all
Parents, Members & Players aged over 16 years of age to complete
the Fair Game Survey, it will take you about 10 minutes. The
club that submits the most survey's will win $1000. Click on the

After a terrific 2009 Football Season on and
off the field, 2010 is shaping up to be bigger and better. With
the signing of a couple of top quality players to blend in with
the 2009 team list, this is the time to jump on board.

Membership is $80.00 and a Family Membership (2 Adults) is

Cricket Club Takes The
Honours
Congratulations to the Whittlesea Cricket
Club who took the honours in both Twenty20 matches. A great day
was had by all, the release of 173 Yellow Balloons was the
highlight of the day. The entire crowd formed a circle around
the boundary of the oval. After a fantastic live rendition of
the National Anthem, all 173 Balloons were released
simultaneously and what moving moment it was. Thanks to all who
attended I am sure this will become an annual event as it was
excepted very well by our local community.
Netball Try Outs A Great
Success
On Friday Night, 5th February, The Whittlesea
Football & Netball Club conducted Netball Try Outs at RMIT for
the 2010 season. 30 girls attended the Try Out Sessions with
great success. With Natasha Skehan coaching the Section 1 girls
and Carly Fitzgerald taking the reigns of the Section 2 girls,
the club is now looking for a 3rd coach to coach a second team
in either section 2 or in section 3 if the NFL start a section 3
competition. The future is looking bright for the Eagles Netball

New Coach Appointed For
2010 Netball Season
With the shock resignation from our 2009
Section 1 Coach due to personal reasons, Natasha Skehan has
stepped up to the plate and will coach the girls for the 2010
Netball Season. With Natasha now coaching Section 1, we now
require a coach for the Section 2 Netball Team. If you are

Now Released
The Northern Football League have released
the official Division 2 2010 Season Fixture. To download a copy

Saturday 10th April against the old rivals in Mernda at Mernda.
Round 3 is our only Sunday game for the year against Fitzroy
Stars at Victoria Park on Anzac Day, Public holiday on the

the award for Outstanding Contribution for Bushfire Recovery at
the Victorian Sport & Recreation Awards Night on Monday.
Co Presidents Steve Crocker & Harry
Neophitou accepted the award on behalf of the club from Olympic Swimming
Champion Nicole Livingstone. The Minister, Mr. James Merlino again
congratulated the members & players who contributed so much of their
time to assist in any way that they could during the Black Saturday

Eagles Sign Top Forward For 2010
On behalf of the club, I would like to
welcome Andrew (Spider) Fairchild to the Whittlesea Football
Club. On Wednesday night, Andrew signed with the club after long
discussions with seniors coach Peter Bugden, Football Manager
Rob Barker and Captain Garrett Heenan. Andrew is also on
Collingwood's VFL list in 2010. He has played the majority of
his football with Greensborough in Division 1 and has been a
stand out in that competition. He will also bring a great deal
of experience with him to our club.
